The Dream Is Over- John Lennon

After reading a bit on blondie’s blog about a John Lennon CD, I decided to check it out. Actually her link was to a video on YouTube. While there I noticed a video entitled God-John Lennon. It sounded interesting enough to check it out.

The essence of the video/song is quite simple yet profound. Ah, the dream is over. What does that mean to you?

Cheers,Genes “Easy Ways”

The path to success is wide and varied. Each is on our own I imagine. Yes clues, and techniques can be used, learning from others etc. But!!

I reckon you could put 3 people through an identical course on something, set them up in identical business, similar locations etc and each would get different results. Each of us have our own individual programming, issues, beliefs and who knows, karma?

Many of the writers or other successful people eventually find success then they wish to tell others how they did it so others can do the same. It is a noble gesture but many are not even sure how they did it, do they? Again so many variables, they may think they know and go on writing book after book. But when you know the secret how many new secrets are there? And why did not you reveal them all in the first book?

It is strange to me how a book evolves, usually from a central idea. Then many words, pages and chapters are created to fill in the book. How much is enough? 10 pages, 100 pages, 500 pages? Words tend to expand and fill in the pages. Much of it, to me, is intellectual do do. Intellectual may be a tad strong. Well, perhaps gobbly gook.

Then again, following all this advice, if we try to become or emulate someone else, who are we really? Do we become some facsimile of that person rather than our own true nature.

Desire is good, desire is bad. It depends on what that is. Is it primal desire? Uncontrolled desire? The desire of something then the creation of that? In a worldly sense?

Does spirituality have anything to do with religion? Can you separate the two? Can you separate the two? Is spirit not part of everything?
Is being rich not spiritual? How was it achieved? Can it be achieved with being spiritual? Is being poor spiritual? Why or why not?

I know some people who ascribe to the idea of intellectual spiritualism or spiritual elitism, or so it seems. How can this be? How can there be an elevated form or spiritualism. More left brained games? Is there such a thing or is it just mind babble to stimulate their creativity and satisfy that desire?

Well, perhaps I should write a book on this? What do you think?

Looking at the stats for this site, the visitors have dropped off considerably. Does that mean we are no longer Helping Others? It really only takes a few seconds to click though and contribute at no cost to you. Use the Reminder Service if necessary to remind you to come back and do it.

Easy ways choice to help others, is it not?

Some thoughts to follow these moments of inspiration.

“The Peace Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow charity;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light; and
Where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying to ourselves that we are born to eternal life.”

I am presenting this “peace” prayer after being reminded of it when listening to a cd by Wayne Dyer. This uplifting and comforting prayer is believed to have been written around 1900 and is attributed to St. Francis of Assisi mainly as it expresses his beliefs and spirit.

Another inspirational work, shown below, is an adaptation of the work of Mother Teresa.
“The Final Analysis

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; …Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; …Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; …Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; …Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; …Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; …Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; …Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; …Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.”

I wanted the above to stand on it’s own so I will post some thoughts afterwards, below.

I am not an expert on this, I came across some things that brought me to a place of wanting to present some things. I prefer to keep it light for the most part and not to get too hung up on words, not to analyze them or dissect them, just let the overall feeling emerge and see how that feels.

I generally look beyond the religious aspect of things to a place of spirituality that transcends main stream religion. While I say transcends, this still includes that aspect of spirituality that is foundational in religion and the concepts that seem to be incorporated in all the world’s major religions. When examined they do have, at their core, the same or similar messages.

The differences and interpretations of mankind bring about the challenges that are faced from a historical viewpoint and today. This starts when words come into play, as the Tao would have it. What does it matter the name assigned to this Universal Energy, whether it be God, Buddha, Creator, Allah, etc?

As Harry Palmer of Avatar would say, we are all the same, it is only our beliefs that separate us. I interpret that as being “we are all one”.

Just a few light thoughts for today. I was looking at some others. That will come later.

Namaste,
