How, When And Where to Blog

Sometimes the easiest way to blog is not always the best place to find a home for your blog. Take for example blogging on a social network site such as Facebook. While it is a great place to place a link to a blog on another site, it is not great for blogging itself.

And this is something you absolutely must take into account. There is a way to blog and a way not to blog. There is a time to blog and a time not to blog. There is a place to blog and places where blogging is not going to be as beneficial to you as another place may be. So how do you know how, when and where?

So why is Facebook not a great place to blog? For starters the website is not set up per se for blogging. You can add “notes” but you have to tag each of your friends and followers if they are going to be notified. And then it shows up on their page which may not go over so well if being inundated with “notes” is not their preference.

You could wind up losing followers. That means you are not going to be making any money. And you will not make money from your blog alone on Facebook. You will have to put links to your website or to another blogging webpage if you want to utilize ads and banner ads for affiliate programs.

Establishing the fact that social networking sites such as Facebook are out, leaves you with places such as WordPress or even Blogspot.com. There are some ups and downs for each site but they do, at least, allow the use of ads and promoting affiliate programs. You just have to get traffic to the site. That leaves you with the proper time to blog once you figure out where.

Try not to post late night blogs because many people will miss out on new blogs if you are consistently posting at odd hours. Try posting at the same time each day or every couple of days. You may not want to even blog every single day for fear of inundating your followers with too much information or repeated information. Have a set number of blogs for the week and stick with that schedule.

All that being said, there is a specific formula (or blueprint) for when to blog, how frequently, and how to get links to your original page and traffic to your individual blog posts. However, all this usually takes a lot of work. Not many people want to devote that kind of time to maintaining their blog on a daily basis. But there is a solution.

Always nice to have alternatives to the big dogs. Piwik is certainly one of them to provide stats for your hosted website. They give you lots of data to about your site, visitors, countries, browsers, referrers, search engines, etc.  This is presented in real time which Goo-gle does not.  Check it out if you have a website or blog.

There are other reasons for using it but I won’t go into that here. I have installed it and I will be monitoring it for awhile.

Also hosting can be had for a very reasonable price, $4.95 to $6.95 monthly, at Bluehost or Hostgator. I have used both and have had good service with each of them.  Having a blog and paying for hosting service is the way to go.  It is much better than the free services as you have complete control.  With a free service you could end up with your site being shut down for one reason or another.

Looking for traffic?  Consider Free Traffic System, which is used for wordpress blogs.

At the moment I can only recommend Blue Host and Host Gator. I have positive experiences with both of these web site hosts. Costs are very reasonable as well as the service.

I will post the SQIP News on a separate page now as I do not want to clog these pages up with that.  They are revamping it back up and introducing some new things as well as getting the FTS back as well as the Booster program.  Also a new back office and more importantly the social media content is being revised and will soon be available again.  For the SQIP_NEWS Go Here.  This is live now as I have completed the update page. I will also want to revise some of the pages and content on this site as I want to put some valuable FREE things on it. Well more of them.  Just have to think more about that, most are listed under ad resources above which is not quite the heading I would like.

One such free program that is well worth looking in to and could possibly be costing you some slowness on your computer or freezing it up because there is too much useless stuff or crap that is not being used.  This program I am thinking of is called CCleaner.  It used to be crap cleaner but they changed the name to make it more attractive.  I had an older computer that I likely could have kept using instead of upgrading had I known about it at the time.

I just pulled it from storage and downloaded CCleaner and set that to work on it.  I could not even defrag the hard drive as it was full.  After using CCleaner on it, it now has 70% free space.  That is massive going from about 1% free space to 70% free space.  So if you do not use that, I strongly suggest giving it a whirl.

When you go to the CCleaner site to download, I also suggest you try the slim version which you will find by scrolling down to “other builds”.  Otherwise you download a toolbar which is not needed, IMO.  Unless you want another toolbar!  I am not an expert on these things but this has been a great tool as I carry it on my main computer for at least a year possibly longer. It is easy to use, it works exceptionally well and the big bonus is that it is free.

Good news from ICF World Homes. They now have a forum in place and I suggest all ICF members register and participate in the forum.  There is also a link at the top of this blog BeMortageFree. They also announced that the debit cards can be activated now and this is important in order to receive your Gain Share and GPT.

Inflation turns negative, falls below zero for first time in 15 years at -0.3 per cent.

Just saw this on the news.

The world’s cheapest car, the Tata Nano, hits the streets on Friday, as the first customer gets the keys to a vehicle that its makers hope will transform travel for millions of Indians. The standard model sells for 140,000 rupees including tax in the showroom. The deluxe models cost up to 185,000 rupees.

140,000 rupees, that is less than $3000 USD.  They won’t be able to keep up with production for that price.

This comes under the heading: Ah, Ain’t She Sweet!

Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire.
Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company.

In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost ‘in a series of small fires.’ The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion.

The lawyer sued and WON! STAY WITH ME .

Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous..

The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company, in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire,

without defining what is considered to be unacceptable ‘fire’ and was obligated to pay the claim.Rather than endure a lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars that perished in the ‘fires’.

NOW FOR THE BEST PART ….
After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!!

With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.

This may be a bit off topic.  I recall Lydia posting something like this for js aka John Stankiewicz etc blogger guy from 9Planets, see links for that.  In any case js may be better looking however when it comes to duck appeal.  Not a chance my friends. Notta.  Zippo. Zilch.  Only the truth gained from years of experience from treading water.  Yes sir/ma’am.

There seems to be a pecking order, no duck pun’d intended, as js recently moved up a blogger to near top spot.  I am on the bottom and sometimes that can be fun but at other times, maybe not.  It depends.  But it cannot be a big deal can it?  I tend to view that as an ego thing anyway.

The more I think of it.  I like the bottom.  Yes I do.  Just another point of view from the bottom.  Well hey, I used to like lobsters and they are bottom feeders.  Which reminds me.  Keep buying those Canadian lobsters folks.  The fisherman need your support.

In any case what I am talking about here is the Playgirl thingy that Lydia did for the young looking and handsome guy,  js.  That complicated and spiritual guy who is well intended.

Ok, this is not really about js, just to put it into some kind of perspective.

So without further ado do I present to you the real Playgirl Man Of The Year, aka The Big Quacker.  Nothing micro about this fellow.  He is surely pretty and ready to take them all on. I love this guy he is so man err duckly. Or is that ducky!

URGENT. I interrupt this blog for some important news in response to my previous post. Is this a conspiracy or what?

I do think they may have conspired against me.  Who?  Friends really.  Well perhaps it is the Serene one, aka Serenity and the guy from 9 Planets.  How he manages to spread himself all over those planets and why, who knows, but pay no attention to that. I say let him travel the universe one planet at a time and see what that will do for him-ski. He is aka js and micronuts but I don’t want to imagine that at all, do you?

Wait a minute bud, do not lose track of the purpose of this post.  Yes I am going to expose them, here today, in this post. No I cannot hold out any longer. This has gone too far, way too far.

Let’s go green for a minute or should I say red.  No it has to be green. Before I go into this I do not believe it has anything to the real magic mushrooms I have been taking.  Not at all.  Not one green pea, salty dog, soap nuts, iota, fungi or spore. I am not seeing double, triple or leprechauns.  More on the soap nuts later on and somewhere else, I will let you guess where that will be. When, I don’t know, yet.

Still those magic mushrooms are so very powerful and are indeed concentrated stuff but I will save that for the creative waves blog.  So, hint, hint,  be on the lookout over there soon.  The death theme may be resurrected soon also.  Good timing as I am writing this on Good Friday.  It was so good today I had to work.  I may get to post this by Good Sunday.

You may recall awhile back when js, my friend, the Planet 9 guy, or the guy from 9 planets, had an advertising business site going, he offered a contest, the first guy to refer 10 members gets a prize.  Well, that was me folks. Yes, indeedy do, I won that one fair and square.

Yes, and I am still waiting for that prize he promised to the winner.  Holy smokes.  I do recall getting paid something by js but how much was it js?  50 cents to my PayPal account-ski?   Was that really for winning or for something else?  I think it was for something else. But I will pretend it was for winning. He really greased my pockets with that tidy sum of money.  It almost broke my PayPal account in two-some. I had to apply for a higher limit after that payment! he-he.

If it was for winning,  I think I am going to offer a prize for a contest and double that prize.  I may even go higher than that. Why you may ask?  And you should ask!

I do not want to be seen as a cheapskate. After all his first offer, and I recall this very well, was a trip to Mars. I really wanted that one. Never mind there is no truth in advertising. Which also reminds me, did that advertising business js had, go bankrupt?

Off Topic. Well maybe it is not. I am staying green, that seems to be a good fit for today, go green and save the planet. I may go navy again but that will only be for a short while if I do.
