Pay Attention to the Voice Within

Speaking of the voice within, music, art etc. goes beyond into the realm of which I will speak here.

Intuitions, The Voice Within:

Sometimes I receive intuitions about people or situations that come to me in the form of subtle signs. So subtle that it may be difficult for me to recognize it. It is important to pay attention to these messages which originate from the right side of the brain as these come in the form of symbols as opposed to our normal language. Perhaps it is a little voice whispering about some thing to do or not.

The left hand side of the brain may try to talk me out of it and this center of my universe may steer me in the wrong direction. Other times the signs may turn up in other people or events pointing you (me) in a new or different direction. This too may easily be overlooked or over thought. Sometimes the logic points to the wrong direction even though it seems very logical to go that way.

True intuition is never wrong. Like when you do something you just know is not right for you. You get that sinking feeling or just a “knowing” that it is wrong. If it feels wrong then it is likely is.

I may sometimes be swayed by others and their interpretations of the “truth” or what they may think is best for me. It may be but then again it may not be. In the end I must decide what makes sense or is valid for me.

Thought for the day:

Thought is a language that has no sound,
while words are the symbols of a language.
When language and thinking are excessive,
they become a hindrance to wisdom.

Obama – Yes We Can – Video

Obama – Yes We Can – Video

No doubt about it, the Obama campaign focusing on “Change” has resulted in other politicians using the “C” word in their campaigns now. On the Democratic side of things M (Momentum) clearly has swung to Barack Obama from Hillary Clinton. Bill Clinton has been cooling his heels after taking some heat about his involvement in support of Hillary.

On the Republican side John McCain is way ahead with Mike Huckabee. Yet Huckabee refuses to go away. For now at least.

Of course the focus is on the excitement being generated by Obama. Some see the similarity to John Kennedy in Obama. Others say no to that but either way there is a great deal of excitement with what is happening and the prospects of change.

Speaking of John Kennedy, a man in BC Canada is claiming to be JFK’s “love child” and is married to a Canadian woman. The man reportedly goes by the name of Jack Worthington and is an American businessman now living in Canada. Wow. It will be interesting to see how this develops as well.

Oprah and Eckhart Tolle Together!

Oprah and Eckhart Tolle Announcement.

Previously, I mentioned the Eckhart Tolle, “A New Earth and the Power of Now”, and Oprah connection, Oprah’s book of the month club. There has been an announcement of an online 10 week series starting March 3, 2008.

Go to Oprah.com, check it out and register if you are interested. This looks like a golden opportunity to be “awakened”, a transformation of human consciousness, as they suggest.

“In his insightful look into humanity’s ego-based thinking, Eckhart Tolle provides practical teachings for waking up to a new, enlightened mind-set. If you’re seeking a more loving self and a more loving planet, A New Earth has the tools to begin your transformation.”

I suspect this will be much more than merely omphaloskepsis. That is a deep subject, however, I am not going to explain that word again.

Could this be part of the “Big Picture”?

What Is Freedom?

What is Freedom?

I receive quotes or mediations of the day from www.deeshan. com.

The following is one is by J. Krishnamurti.

Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not a choice.
It is man’s pretence that because he has choice he is free.

Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of
punishment and reward.

Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution
of man but lies in the first step of his existence.

Interesting concept is it not? Kind of a Zen way of looking at freedom. I am pondering it still yet felt it was relevant enough to present here.

What do you think? Does it resonate with you at all?

Cheers,

Gene

The Great Divide, Clinton vs Obama Super Tuesday

This is a big day, a super day, in the US, as it is “Super Tuesday” with many lining up to choose their candidate of choice in 22 states for the Democrats and 21 states for the Republicans. There is a great deal at stake today with an anticipated close vote between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. For the Republicans it appears John McCain is in the lead over Mitt Romney.

Winding up with the voting in California, it could be a very interesting day or evening.

Even the stars have gotten involved, such as Oprah Winfrey who is supporting Obama. Then again there is the governor of California, Arnold Swarzenegger, and his wife, Maria Shriver, who are divided on the issue. He is supporting McCain for the Republicans and she is supporting Obama, for the Democrats.

Households are divided over whom they will support. The most interesting situation is with the Democrats as it pits a black man running against a woman to become President. Either choice would be a first. Adding to this special situation is the fact that it is occurring between the front runners in one political party in the same year. Many people have been waiting a long time to have a highly regarded candidate and potential President from either “category”.

Many are torn with having to make that choice between the two. Sure it is said that race or gender does not matter. That may be a politically correct statement, yet the facts indicate otherwise.

So this is a big day indeed and it may or may not decide a winner as predictions of a close vote not giving anyone a clear path to the oval office. Then again, it just may do that.

As for those of us who are not participating in this historic event we still have a keen interest in who will become the next President.

The world as we know it may be at stake. Time for a change? You bet. Take your best shot now.

Who will you choose?

Cheers,

Gene
